Former Philadelphia Union midfielder, Brenden Aaronson made an impact for his new club Saturday morning. Not only did he debut for the team, he also scored his first goal. Red Bull Salzburg fans hope this is just the first of many for the 20-year old.

As you see in the tweet above, the goal came off a throw-in during the 52’ of the game. With a teammate on the ball from the left side of the field, Aaronson moved from the right side to the center of the 18-yard box. Once he was there, an open, his new teammate feed him the ball. That is when he was able to spin and shoot the ball past the keeper. His goal added to Salzburg’s lead, 2-0. The team would eventually win the friendly against Steyr 6-0.

Aaronson signed for the club back in October 2020, officially joining the club earlier this month. The home-grown player was reportedly sold for around $6 million dollars. The former homegrown player was crucial to the Union’s 2020 season, helping the team raise the club’s first trophy.
