It was one of the most anticipated films in 2016 and this week we here at Brotherly Game are hosting a watch party for Marvel’s Civil War. What better way to put a nice bowtie on our Marvel week than a film that involves a family feuding with one another.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe centers around an argument over international oversight of the Avengers. That dispute leads to a separation of teams, one led by Captain America and the other by Iron Man.
The film also includes one of the best scenes in the MCU between Iron Man and Steve Rodgers. Plus, who would not want to relive the introduction of Marvel’s most famous web slinger to the MCU? That is right, even though Spider-Man has had many of films since 2000, Civil War was the first time he became part of the overall Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Spider-Man isn’t the only character making their MCU debut during Civil War. The leader of the fictitious nation of Wakanda, who would go on to have his own film (which was nominated for best picture), Black Panther made an appearance. In reality it’s events that happened with Black Panther, that lead to the idea of an International Oversight committee.
Now let’s get into the team breakdown of our Saturday Night’s “match. On Team Stark (Iron Man) you have War Machine, Black Widow, Vision, and new MCU members Spider-Man and Black Panther. Team Cap’s roster has Hawkeye, Sharon Carter, Falcon, Bucky Barnes, Ant-Man, and Scarlet Witch.
If you have seen the film before, let the debating continue on who is right Team Stark or Team Cap. If you have not seen it or want to watch it again, join us for a live tweet session of the film Saturday night on @brotherlygame.
