Game Thread: Philadelphia Union 1 vs Toronto FC 2, Final

After the U scored in the 5th minute, it was all Toronto for the rest of the 85 minutes

Game Thread

90+4 - With the ball bouncing in the box, Monteiro tries to get a shot off but it goes out and the final whistle is blown.

90+1’ -Bedoya making a good run into the box and the shot of his head is saved.

90’ - We will hace at least 4 minutes of stoppage time.

86’ - Both teams making changes here. Union replace Real with Wooten and TFC makes a double switch Patrick Mullins replaces Akinola and Tsubasa Endoh comes on for Pablo Piatti.

83’ - Martinez has entered the refs book with a yellow card.

81’ = Monteiro thinking someone is near him back kicks it to behind him and Kacper comes out of the box for a shot and keeps it on the deck and it is an easy save.

76’ - Pozuelo unmarked in the six yard box gets on the end of the cross and easily gets it into the back of the net. TFC up 2-1.

75’ - TFC have a free kick on the right wing. The ball is swung and the U get on the end to give Toronto a corner.

71’ - Union are lucky there as the ball hits the side of the net. Union also sub out Santos and bring in Ilsinho.

65’ - Anthony Fontana comes on to replace Brenden Aaronson.

61’ - Bedoya gets a cross right infront of the net and Santos can’t get on the end of it.

60’ - Pablo Piatti splits the defense and shoots, but it goes high above the net.

58’ - TFC ties the game up off a cross from Gallacher to Ayo Akinola, who beats McKenzie and gets the ball behind a diving Blake.

53’ - Jozy is getting subbed out and replaced with Nick DeLeon.

51’ - In a flashback to the World Cup, Jozy pulls up and grabs his hamstring. Play is now stopped and he is on the pitch next to the end line.

47’ - Soft touch by Santos turns it over at the edge of the box. However the U are able to get it back but turn it over when the ball goes off of Aaronson at the endline.

46’ - Union get the second half underway with the kickoff att 8:40.

37’ - Brenden Aaronson gets creative and slips the ball into the box for a running Kacper Przybylko, whose run is held up by Omar Gonzalez.

35’ - Union getting too fancy in the box and no one decided to take a shot. Which leads to a TFC free kick.

30’ - Monteiro with a great shot from long range but the Keeper gets a hand on it to knock it into the crossbar. Union are unable to capitalize on the rebound. Union still up 1-0.

28’ - Watching this game, you would think TFC were the team that is winning, as they are dominating the time of possession.

24’ - For the second consecutive counter attack the U putting to much pressure on hitting the ball up the field. So no one in blue can get on the end of it and it is easily go right back to TFC.

20’ - Jakob Glesnes fouled by Jozy Altidore on the right wing.

14’ - Union have plenty of numbers forward and have moved from the left side of the net to close to the right side corner flag. After a cross from Mbaizo the ball is poorly headed inside the box and Santos gets off a week shot.

13’ - Mbaizo sends it up field to in front of Santos but he couldn’t get enough space away from Omar Gonzalez to do anything with it.

7’ - Save By Blake! Union do a poor job at clearing a corner kick from the left side but thank fully Blake makes a stop with his feet.

4’ - GOOOOAAAAALLLLL!!!! Sergio Santos. Union win the ball in the midfield and Santos who had no angle chips it into the net.

3’ - Monteiro wins the ball near the left touchline and then gets fouled. Free kick for the Union and it amounts to nothing.

1’ - We have Kickoff. Game got underway at 7:38.
