Same game, different place. After the Union defeated Orlando City SC in Orlando on Wednesday, the two sides will duke it out once again tonight, this time 1000 miles up the coast.
As a result of Sacha Kljestan red-card tackle on Jamiro Monteiro a few nights ago, neither player will appear tonight. Monteiro is out with an ankle injury that is as yet unspecified, though the team is expecting x-ray results soon.
The on-loan midfielder’s absence could allow for Marco Fabián to make his first start since May 11th. He’s made appearances off the bench in the past two matches, but only for a combined 40 minutes. If he’s not able to start tonight, we could see either Anthony Fontana line up in the diamond, or Sergio Santos and Fafa Picault on the wings in a 4-2-3-1. Ilsinho is still deemed questionable with an adductor strain.
Andre Blake will also return to the lineup today following Jamaica’s run to the Gold Cup semifinals. Blake posted two clean sheets before the Reggae Boyz ultimately lost to the USMNT on Wednesday.
