Brenden Aaronson delivered his first goal for Red Bull Salzburg on Wednesday and it was one that won’t soon be forgotten.
The 20-year-old Medford, N.J. native and former Philadelphia Union homegrown curled a shot in with two defenders on him in the 72nd minute to make it 2-1 to Salzburg. The goal held up as the game winner in a 3-1 final score over Austria Wien, which featured former Sporting Kansas City defender Erik Palmer-Brown in the starting lineup.
It was Aaronson’s fourth league appearance for the first place side in the Austrian Bundesliga. He’s also made one cup appearance since joining the team in January.
