Classic Preview: Philadelphia Union vs Minnesota United in 2018

Philadelphia will spend the next few weeks showcasing old Union matches

MLS: Minnesota United FC at Philadelphia Union Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

It’s been a few weeks, but we are back here with a preview of an upcoming Philadelphia Union match! However, it isn’t a new match, but a rebroadcast of an important match from 2018.

It’s all part of the U’s recently announced Union Classic series. Tonight’s match will see the boys in blue take on Minnesota United. A match where if the Union win, they find themselves in the 2018 playoffs.

Taking a dip into the Brotherly Game archives for a nice refresher, we find both teams are HOT coming into the game, with both sides picking up seven points in their last three games. Now it was also the first game after the Union loss the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup final to Houston.

That season United was awful when they went away, which tonight they are, only picking up one win on the road. So, the U have a huge chance to bounce back and make the Audi 2018 MLS playoffs.
