Anthony’s two goals off the bench earned him nearly a perfect score in our Community Player Ratings

Only one person in our Community Player Ratings poll from the Philadelphia Union win over New England thought Anthony Fontana deserved less than a five.

Fontana unsurprisingly received the highest rating in the poll after leading the Union to a 2-1 win with a brace off the bench that included a stunning late game-winner deep into stoppage time.

The pride of Newark, Del. finished with a 4.98 average rating. It’s the highest average rating in our poll for a player in 2020. Kacper Przybylko received a 4.92 average rating after the D.C. United win a few weeks ago.

Andrew Wooten, who Fontana replaced in the 64th minute, finished with the lowest average rating at 2.63 and only Jakob Glesnes (4.02) joined Fontana with an average rating of four or higher.

Fontana is the eighth different player to receive the top spot in the poll in 14 games in all competitions.
