When the Philadelphia Union return to Talen Energy Stadium this evening, they’ll encounter a Houston Dynamo side that’s among the league’s worst. After a hot start in which they won six of their first eight matches, Houston have now lost 10 of their last 13. With a dismal Dynamo in town, the Union will look to extend their lead over Atlanta United FC and New York City FC, who play each other this afternoon.
The Union are finally back at full strength, with no injuries or suspensions to report. Haris Medunjanin and Alejandro Bedoya are both a yellow card away from a one-game suspension, however.
Jamiro Monteiro, who played 34 minutes and provided an assist in last weekend’s 5-1 thumping of D.C. United, should make his first start in over a month. If Marco Fabián also starts tonight, this will be only the third time that both Fabián and Monteiro have started alongside each other. On both other occasions, Fabián was forced off with an ankle injury.
Houston’s Romell Quioto (red card) and Matías Vera (yellow-card accumulation) are suspended for tonight’s match.
