La Salle’s hopes for a return to the NCAA Tournament were crushed by a 1-0 loss to top-seeded Saint Louis in the Atlantic 10 semifinals on Friday.
A 27th minute goal from Courtney Reimer was all the hosts needed to knock off the Explorers (11-8-1) and advance to the conference final. The hosts outshot La Salle 17-6 on the day. Claudia Jenkins made three saves on the day but after denying a header from Reimer earlier in the half was unable to stop the flicked header in the first half that held up as the game-winner.

La Salle’s loss means the Philadelphia Soccer Six won’t have a representative in the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year. Villanova loss to top seed Xavier in the Big East semifinal on Thursday night and an Ivy League title is out of reach for Penn. Saint Joseph’s lost in the first round of the Atlantic 10 tournament and Temple and Drexel didn’t qualify for their conference tournaments.
