West Chester United lost by a familiar scoreline in the National Premier Soccer League playoffs in North Jersey on Wednesday night.

No. 2 seed Clarkstown topped third-seeded West Chester United 1-0 after winning by the same scoreline in the regular season finale on Sunday.

Clarkstown will face regular season Keystone Conference champions New Jersey Copa in the conference final on Saturday. New Jersey Copa edged Electric City Shock 2-1 on Tuesday with a stoppage time goal in the other conference semifinal.

West Chester United started its first season in the NPSL unbeaten in its first six games, but finished with just one win in the last five, losing 4-1 to Hershey FC, twice to Clarkstown SC Eagles while being held to a 2-2 draw by Buxmont Torch.

The league newcomers finished with a 6-3-2 record. Buxmont Torch finished with a 4-4-2 record in fifth place, following by Junior Lone Star FC with a 4-5-1 record and Hershey FC in seventh place with a 3-7-0 record.

Joe Sales led West Chester in goals with five and Ben Maurey and Gogo Kollie each had three for the season. Captain Michael Gonzalez led the team in minutes.

Roughly half of the roster will report back to their college soccer programs in the coming weeks while the others will continue to compete with the club in other competitions.
