City Islanders FC will play Wilmington Hammerheads at Legion Stadium in Wilmington, NC on Friday June 3 at 7:00pm.

CIFC travel to North Carolina as the look to bounce back from their 0-2 loss to FC Cincinnati over the weekend. The City Islanders sit in ninth place in the USL Eastern Conference standings, just one point behind the eighth and final playoff spot.

The City Islanders will be without forward Aaron Wheeler who was suspended for three games by the USL Disciplinary Committee for "an intentional kick to a player." You can see a video of the kick here.

Expect CIFC-leading scorer Paul Wilson to be paired with forward Craig Foster.

The Wilmington Hammerheads started the 2016 USL season strong with seven points from their first four matches. Since then, the Hammerheads have struggled to put a string of good performances together. They have only won once in the past six matches, against Toronto FC II last Sunday.

Wilmington are lead by defender Bruno Perone, a world-traveling Brazilian who leads the team with four goals. The Hammerheads also feature midfielder Austin Martz, a Mechanicsburg native who returned to the States after a time abroad in the Maltese Premier League.
