The Islanders head into Saturday’s match riding their first winning streak of the 2016 USL season. They defeated Bethlehem Steel FC and Toronto FC II at Clipper Magazine Stadium in Lancaster, PA by a combined score of 5-2.
FC Cincinnati are on a hot streak of their own. Cincinnati are undefeated in their last five matches and have only lost twice so far this season. The Blue and Orange currently sit in fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings with 17 points from nine matches and a game in hand on the leaders.
In the first match of the season, the City Islanders hosted FC Cincinnati at FNB Park. CIFC took the early lead but conceded late to give FC Cincinnati a point on the road.
Midfielder Jose Barril returns after serving a one-game suspension for yellow card accumulation. Considering their recent success, City Islanders head coach Bill Becher may keep the lineup the similar to the last two matches.
