The newly formed Union Development Squad won their first match on Saturday by a 2-0 final over local UPSL squad the Philadelphia Sierra Stars.
Aiden O’Sullivan and Paul Killeen scored the goals for the Union and Owen Moore and Ian Turnbull combined on the clean sheet.
The team, which is coached by Philadelphia Union original Fred DaSilva, is new to the Philadelphia Union Academy setup and was created as a bridge between the U17 team and the Philadelphia Union 2.
The starting XI for the game, played at the Power Training Complex in Chester, featured Owen More at goalkeeper, a back line of Sebastian Brandt, Sam Fenton, Robert Myrick, Kleberson Pereira, a midfield four of Sam Graham, Aiden O’Sullivan, Ritter Sunby and Sandu Zama and a front two of Conor Clair and Paul Killeen.
Ian Tunbull, Jak Higginbotham, Jordan Lawrence, Mathias Velasquez and Zakary Kandoussi came off the bench.
