Leon Maric didn’t waste any time making an impression with his new club.
The Gilbertsville, Pa. native scored a goal in his professional debut for Michigan Stars FC in their National Independent Soccer Association fall season opener on Saturday. Cal United won the match 4-3.

The former FC Delco and Philadelphia Union Academy forward had 4 goals and 3 assists for West Chester United in the recently completed USL League Two season. He had 16 goals and 4 assists over his last two college seasons at Saint Joseph’s University in 2018 and 2019 after transferring from Virginia.
Maric was born in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but grew up in the greater Philadelphia area. He graduated from Boyertown Senior High School.
