The Union fall in Foxborough to first place Revolution ahead of Club America competition.

Philadelphia Union

Updates

FT: That’s all she wrote, as the first half PK breaks the difference in Foxborough. Union may have deserved points, but just couldn’t convert enough where they should’ve.

90’ + Yellow for Bunbury for delaying the restart after a foul on McGlynn

90’ + Tough foul there by Bedoya at midfield, lucky to escape yellow.

90’ What a save there from Turner, Gazdag almost evened it up.

89’ The Revolution looked to put the game away there, but the shots just wide of the goal.

88’ A great shot there from Przybylko, but its saved by Turner.

87’ Aaronson with a cross into the box there, but it’s snagged by Turner.

86’ Ilsinho with a good pass to Gazdag there, who earns a corner.

84’ Yellow to Wagner there for a trip, looked like he got some of the ball.

83’ New England with some good chances there, but they’ll reset back deep.

81’ Aaronson trips over nothing there, and the Union give up a goal kick in a good position.

80’ Dangerous shot there from NE, but it's over the bar from just a few yards out.

76’ Glesnes is back, and Gazdag is on for Sullivan.

74’ Glesnes down after a 50/50 ball, trainers called on.

72’ Glesnes with a good block there, corner for New England.

70’ Very dangerous ball into the box there from NE, but Blake stops that well.

69’ Aaronson taken down from behind from McNamara, yellow card issued. First to the Revs.

67’ Foul there by Ilsinho, good opportunity for a cross into the box for the Revs. Cleared only for a corner to be given up by Findlay.

65’ Union again slow to start the half, but they look dangerous again.

65’ Good cross from Bou there, but it’s easily picked off by Blake.

63’ Hard foul there from Bedoya from behind in the attacking half, no card given.

59’ Good ball into the box from Findlay, but it just misses three players.

57’ Bedoya and Ilsinho on for Martinez and Mbaizo

56’ A few shots there, Glesnes to Sullivan, Aaronson gets the rebound but is taken down, no PK given.

54’ Elliott with a foul at the edge of the box, he’s lucky he doesn’t get a yellow.

50’ What a save there from Blake. Knocks the ball just over the bar for a corner.

49’ Good defense from Aaronson there, but he just gives the foul. Ball heads right back the other way with Wagner fouled.

46’ Wagner and Przybylko have joined the gang as the second half gets underway.

HT: That’s the first 45. Union can win this one, despite the current skyline. I’d expect a point at least for Philly.

45’ Buskal just misses goal there, NE should have a 3-1 lead after that one.

42’ Buchanan with a good ball in the box, but it’s right at Blake.

41’ McGlynn earns a foul in a dangerous position, the cross gets little.

39’ Blake with a great save there, but Bou follows up and makes it 2-1.

38’ Flach looks like he gets the ball there, but the PK is blown anyways for NE. Bou to take.

37’ Dangerous header there from NE, Glesnes heads it out for a corner.

36’ Santos stopped from point-blank. Gets another one from Sullivan but is offside.

35’ Good block from Mbaizo near the goal line, ball goes out for a NE corner.

31’ That’s just a beautiful top corner ball from Paxten. Third shot on goal for the Union to give them a tie.

31’ THERE IT IS FROM AARONSON GOOD GOD. 1-1.

30’ Dangerous ball from Gustavo Bou there, Elliott clears it out to Santos, who earns a corner on the other end

26’ Ball from Martinez misses Sullivan on a run downfield, another corner for NE.

25’ Homegrowns look good tonight. Not enough to change the starting rotation, but solid all the same.

22’ Mbaizo with a well earned yellow for stopping a promising attack there.

21’ Sullivan makes a good run downfield, Flach’s ball goes out for a corner.

19’ Mbaizo with a good cross to Santos, who earns another corner. Findlay gets a head on it straight to Turner.

15’ Sullivan to Aaronson to Flach earns the Union another corner after a quick drive upfield. That’ll just run out of bounds for a goal kick.

10’ There’s the opening as Polster puts it past Andre Blake.

10’ Both teams have looked dangerous thus far, though it looks like New England will get more changes tonight

8’ Dangerous ball there from the Revs, but it sails over Andre Blake’s hands for a goal kick.

7’ Leon Flach will earn the Union another corner after little result from the previous attempt. Cleared by NE as they get a counter together.

5’ Leon Flach gets a good through ball to Sergio Santos, Turner makes the save for a corner.

4’ A good tackle by Jakob Glesnes gives NE their first corner.

4’ Andre Blake grabs the ball of the first time tonight off of a poor through pass.

2’ Strong cross into the box to start off the action for NE, but that’s a misplaced header from Buskal.

1’ And we’re off here in Gillette Stadium with a thinly packed crowd as the Union looks for some tough road points.

Starting Lineups

Philadelphia Union

The biggest surprise here might be the 3-5-1 formation but it’s all worth noting that Paxten Aaronson is making his first start and Curtin is rolling with four players who haven’t been earned significant minutes this season.
