The Philadelphia Union U15s are heading to the final four of the MLS Next Cup after their second straight penalty shootout win on Monday morning.
Goalkeeper Andrew Rick made three saves and Matt Routzahn again converted the deciding penalty kick to send the Union through after a scoreless draw with Austin FC in Frisco, Texas.
The Union were unable to find the back of the net in 80 minutes of regulation in the Texas heat and fell behind early in the shootout but Rick came up with three straight saves to stonewall Austin FC in a match streamed live on MLSSoccer.com.
They’ll get a day off tomorrow before facing the winner of DC United and New England Revolution on Wednesday.
