They had to wait through a postponed fall season, but Camden County College are back in the semifinals of the NJCAA Division III semifinals after a 3-0 win over Rock Valley on Wednesday in Herkimer, New York.

They’ll face the winner of hosts Herkimer College and Monroe College - Bronx tomorrow night at 6:30 p.m. with a chance to go to the final for the first time since 2016. This is their third trip to the semifinals in the last four seasons. They lost to Herkimer in 2019 and Genesee in 2017 in the national semifinals.

Pablo Marques opened the scoring against Rock Valley 12 minutes in when Amit Flechtman won a header near midfield and it ended up at the feet of Marques, who turned and beat three defenders before putting it past the keeper. The goal was the 21st of the season for Marques in Camden County’s 12th match.

The Cougars doubled their advantage less than a minute into the second half when a Rock Valley defender whiffed on a pass and Marques played a ball forward to Lautaro Berisso, who ended up with an easy goal, his 10th of the season, after the ball squirted through the Rock Valley keeper’s legs.

Flechtman made it 3-0 to the Cougars in the 50th minute when he converted on a penalty kick. Emanuel Teixeira drew the penalty when he was chopped down by a Rock Valley defender in the box. Luis Guerra tacked on another goal late off an assist from Adrian Segovia to make it a 4-0 win for the Cougars.
