Soccer is coming back to Chester and Subaru Park in a couple weeks, but whether fans will be permitted in the stadium is still up in the air.

Philadelphia Union II will be hosting the Pittsburgh Riverhounds in the return of play in the USL Championship on July 18.

“We are in continued discussions with Pennsylvania state officials about what may be possible in terms of having fans in Subaru Park,” a statement from the team reads. “We will continue to abide by state and local guidelines and follow their recommendations, as the health and safety of our fans remains a top priority.”

The Riverhounds game is one of seven scheduled to be played in Chester in a modified schedule. Union II will also host New York Red Bulls II twice on July 22 and August 5, Hartford Athletic twice on August 9 and 19, Atlanta United 2 on September 2 and Loudoun United on September 16.

The Riverhounds, Red Bulls, Hartford and Loudoun are all in the same regional group as Union II. The top two finishers in the group will advance to the playoffs.

U2 will play eight matches on the road against the Tampa Bay Rowdies on September 6, at Red Bulls II on August 23 and September 26, at Pittsburgh August 1 and October 3, Hartford July 25 and September 20 and Loudoun United on September 12.

Loudoun played Union II to a scoreless draw in the only game of the season at Subaru Park back on March 7.

The team returned to full training on Wednesday.
