On loan Philadelphia Union striker Cory Burke converted from the spot to record his first goal in the Austrian Bundesliga since his hat trick on June 2 in a 1-1 draw on Tuesday.
Burke converted the penalty in the 44th minute to give SKN St. Polten the lead but an 83rd minute equalizer with both teams down to 10 men by WSG Swarovski Wattens led to a 1-1 draw.
The goal was Burke’s fourth to go along with an assist for St. Polten in his ninth appearance. He’s logged 534 minutes. Tuesday was his first action since he was sent off in the 50th minute for a second yellow card on June 16.
St. Polten has three matches remaining on the schedule with games Saturday and Tuesday before wrapping up the season against SC Rheindorf Altach on July 4.
