Betting odds are what they are and the MLS is Back Tournament feels like a bit of a black box to predict in terms of how the knockout rounds and forward will go, but nonetheless the latest odds to emerge from Draft Kings do look favorably on the Philadelphia Union.
The Union are tied for fourth with the New York Red Bulls at +1400 odds. LAFC is first at +350, followed by Toronto FC at +900 and Atlanta United at +1100.
As Joe Tansey pointed out in reply to the chart being posted on our Twitter account yesterday, the variance between where the Union sit in the Draft Kings odds is wildly different than where FanDuel has them.
FanDuel has the Union at +2,900. That is an incredible variance in price.

As Tansey pointed out, that’s a difference of +1500 between the two oddsmakers.
Just eight teams listed on FanDuel have longer odds: Chicago Fire, DC United, Colorado Rapids, FC Cincinnati, Houston Dynamo, Orlando City, Vancouver Whitecaps and Nashville SC.
NYCFC, one of the Union’s three opponents in the group stage of the tournament, is listed at +1600 on Draft Kings and +1100 on FanDuel. Inter Miami is +2200 and +2900 while Nashville last on both at +8000.
Getting through the group stage is only one step in the tournament. To make a legitimate run at the trophy - and the prize money and Champions League berth that comes with it - how the Union play in the knockout rounds will be the real test.
