Bold and not so bold predictions for the 2020 Philadelphia Union season

I asked the Brotherly Game staff and readers to share their bold and not so bold predictions. Here are some of them. Share your own predictions and/or react to these in the comments.

The Bold

They’ll make another deep run at the US Open Cup

Win leagues cup

Andrew Wooten endears himself to the Union faithful by scoring multiple late game winners

Win the US Open Cup

Mark McKenzie wins defender of the year

Union qualify for Champions League

Jakob Glesnes leads the center back corps in appearances for the season

Winning it all

The Union will address their need at right back in the summer transfer window

Ray will score a goal

Kacper and Santos score over 25+ goals (combined)

Sergio Santos, not Kacper, will lead the team in goals scored

Most clean sheets in MLS

Brenden Aaronson will lead the East in assists and will be transferred to Germany/Dutch club after this season

The Union will make the playoffs

Union Twitter will rage halfway through first game

Goals given up will improve from last year

Gaddis will play lots of minutes and be MIA on offense

There will be better attendance (more sellouts) at home than last year

Center back tandem will change multiple times

This year’s team will be younger, faster and better than last year

Another home playoff victory

Kacper Przybylko will lead the team in goals

The new stadium name will have no impact on the team’s dominance at home again

Kacper surpasses his 15 goals scored from last season

The Union will still not sign a LEGIT marquee signing in the summer window

Andre Blake will be an All Star
