Major League Soccer Commissioner Don Garber is coming to town on Tuesday for a new stadium name announcement the Philadelphia Union is billing as “historic.”
The new name will be the third for the stadium the Philadelphia Union call home. It was called PPL Park when the venue opened in 2010 and has been called Talen Energy Stadium since November 2015.
A press release announcing Tuesday’s event also noted that team officials will also “outline a list of stadium upgrades that will coincide with the new partnership that will be in place before the home opener against San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday, March 14 at 7:30 p.m.”
