The USMNT are set to finish the year with a friendly against El Salvador. While it may not be the Audi MLS Playoffs, Union fans have plenty to be excited about. As both Brenden Aaronson and Mark McKenzie are part of the selection for tonight’s game.
In fact when the lineups were released both were included in the Starting XI. With tonight’s start this will be Aaronson’s second career start for the senior season team. It was just last week the USMNT’s head coach Greg Berhalter had this to say about the midfielder “What we’re looking for him now is to validate it. Validate it on the field. It’s a good opponent we play. Against El Salvador, it’s going to be a tight game and this is where he should be able to be very effective. We’re really looking forward to him capping off a strong season with a good performance against El Salvador.”
Not to be overlooked tonight is also the second appearance for the U’s McKenzie. Both are looking to impress Berhalter to become regular members of the senior squad.
