Greg Vanney steps down as head coach of Toronto FC
Vanney, 46, was out of contract this season. The club’s all-time winningest coach owned an overall record of 112 wins, 61 losses, and 55 draws in all competitions since being promoted to his role in 2014. He reached the MLS Cup Final three times in the past four seasons—highlighted by achieving the league’s first-ever treble in 2017.

Orlando City Signs Midfielder Mauricio Pereyra to Contract Extension
The Designated Player, who will turn 31 in March, was under contract through the 2020 season but the extension allows him to remain a Lion and perhaps exit the club in a more palatable way after his red card Sunday against New England had a major effect on the club’s first ever playoff run.

Orlando City Acquires Defender Antonio Carlos on Permanent Deal
Antonio Carlos joined Orlando City on Dec. 30, 2019 on loan from Brazilian Serie A side Palmeiras. The one-year loan featured an option to purchase his contract following the season. Partnering with Robin Jansson, the two have become arguably the best center back pairing in club history.

The Montreal Impact will become Montreal FC
The new name of the team is reminiscent of its reserve club, FC Montreal, which played the 2015 and 2016 seasons in the USL before being dissolved.

Frankie Amaya removed from USMNT roster due to positive COVID-19 test
Amaya will be replaced on the 22-man roster by Orlando City midfielder Andrés Perea. The 20-year-old Perea is a dual national of the United States and Colombia, and started all 5 matches for Colombia at the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
