Free agent NFL running back Jay Ajayi will be defending the Philadelphia Union’s eMLS Cup during the 2020 campaign that kicks off this Friday with the League One Series at Union Transfer on Friday in Philadelphia.

The Union announced the Super Bowl champion and Pro Bowl running back as their gamer in the competition on Tuesday afternoon.

The Union were crowned the second eMLS Cup champions in 2019 with Cormac “Doolsta” Dooley but the Temple University student has signed on with Nashville SC for the 2020 campaign.

Ajayi joined the Philadelphia Eagles in 2017 and helped lead the team to the franchise’s first Super Bowl win over the New England Patriots in 2018. He rejoined the Eagles for a portion of the 2019 season and is currently a free agent.

Growing up in London, England, Ajayi is a lifelong soccer fan and an avid FIFA videogame player.
