Cory Burke may not be returning to the Philadelphia Union for preseason, after all.
The 28-year-old Jamaican international is reportedly on his way to being loaned to SKN St. Pölten in the Austrian Bundesliga, a club where Anthony Fontana and Matt Real both had training stints in November.
Per source, confirming reports that the Philadelphia Union has completed the deal to loan Cory Burke for the remainder of the Austrian Bundesliga to SKN St. Pölten. Player returns in May. #DOOP— Kristian Dyer (@KristianRDyer) January 11, 2020
Previous reports had linked Burke with a sale to the Austrian club.
Burke last appeared for the Union on April 20 and missed the rest of the season because of visa issues. He recently completed a six-month loan to Jamaican team Portmore United, scoring 11 goals in 20 matches.
