Bedoya exits Columbus Crew match with injury in 44th minute

Bedoya was replaced by Warren Creavalle after going down with a knock

MLS: Philadelphia Union at Columbus Crew SC Greg Bartram-USA TODAY Sports

Philadelphia Union captain Alejandro Bedoya went down with a “right quad strain” injury and had to exit the game against the Columbus Crew in the first half on Sunday.

Bedoya was replaced by Warren Creavalle in the 44th minute after he went down with a non-contact injury. He was seen limping before the play where he went down.

This is the first time Bedoya has subbed out of a match in the first half since he was sent off in the 20th minute against Atlanta United last July. It will be the first time he hasn’t finished a match he started since he subbed out at the end of the game against the New England Revolution last August.

He played all but 90 minutes this season prior to today’s game. He missed the Atlanta Unite game on August 31 while serving a yellow card suspension.
