Another dominant performance in Costa Rica has the Philadelphia Union Academy one win away from bringing home the Concacaf Under-13 Champions League trophy.

Angel Gael Medrano scored for the fifth straight game and was involved in the other two goals scored by Dominic Wilson and Matthew Routzahn in the 3-0 win for the Union over Comunicaciones of Guatemala on Thursday.

Wilson opened the scoring with his third goal of the tournament in the 9th minute when Medrano was played down the left flank with a long pass from left back Nicholas Leedy and his cross made its way through traffic to Wilson at the far post.

Routzahn then added his fourth of the competition in the 24th minute off a clever flick by Medrano off a pass from center back Sebastian Brandt. Medrano then capped off the victory with his ninth goal in the 54th minute when he hit home a Henry Bernstein free kick that fell to him in front of goal. Andrew Rick recorded the clean sheet in goal.

Through five games, the Union have now outscored opponents 20-2 with clean sheets in three of the five matches.

The Union will play Santa Ana of El Salvador for the Champions League crown on Saturday at 2 p.m. EST. Santa Ana scored in the final moments of their game against CD Universitario on Thursday to advance to the final.
