Saturday day will be a historic day in the history of Philadelphia Lone Star as both their NPSL and WPSL teams compete in their respective conference finals.
Lone Star’s National Premier Soccer League team will travel to Drew University in Madison, N.J. to take on FC Motown, which beat West Chester United in one of two semifinals on Tuesday night. Motown made it all the way to the NPSL final last season and featured recent Philadelphia Union signing RJ Allen on their roster this summer.
Lone Star beat the top-seeded Atlantic City FC in their first ever playoff on Tuesday night in Egg Harbor Township. Ebere Goodluck and Anthony Allison scored in the 2-1 win. Allison was fifth in the league in goals this season with 10.
Lone Star Women advanced to the Mid-Atlantic Conference championship in their inaugural season after a 1-0 win over Philly Fever in their regular season finale thanks to a 26th minute goal from forward Emily McNesby. They’ll face Torch FC at Pennridge High School on Saturday at 6 p.m.
#ICYMI: Both our men's and women's teams will be in action in their respective Conference finals this Saturday!!
