Updates

Full Time: That was ugly

74’ Fontana into the game for Fafa.

66’ Not that the Union were ever in it but this one is officially over. Another counter attack, this time off a corner kick. Second goal of the night for Orji Okwonkwo off an assist from Urruti, who beat Trusty to the ball that set up the break.

56’ Andrew Wooten in for Matt Real. Three at the back now for the Union because why not at this point.

55’ More poor play from the Union. Haris with a bad back pass to Trusty, who slips and then lets the ball go. Luckily the shot goes wide.

49’ Ilsinho in for Aaronson

46’ Lappalainen makes it 3-0 right off the second half kickoff. Elliott overcommits and he practically walks it in. Nightmare start to the second half.

Halftime whistle: rough half for the Union. Shaky performance from the defense and a little bit lucky on the offensive end not to have a goal (Kacper hit the post).

39’ Bedoya with a smart pass into Kacper from the right flank but Kacper’s shot hits woodwork.

36’ Just when the Union start to push, Montreal Impact’s lethal counter attack strikes (after a WTF flicked header backwards from Gaddis) and Orji Okwonkwo blasts one past Blake after Matt Real gave him too much space in transition. Piatti instrumental yet again in a goal-scoring play against the Union.

35’ A couple more chances for Bedoya off a corner and Kacper that Evan Bush keeps out.

32’ At last some good movement offensively from the Union. Fabian with some clever touches but doesn’t amount to a clear chance.

9’ Picault taken out on a late and cynical challenge from Diallo. Clear yellow.

4’ The Union in an early hole after Lassi Lappalainen gets behind Ray Gaddis and scores with his first touch in his MLS debut. Gaddis was beaten badly but no one stepped up to Zachary Brault-Guillard on a long run down the right flank to set it up.

Starting Lineups

Matt Real gets his first MLS start since April 13, 2018 and Andrew Wooten is on the bench.

Union-killer Piatti is in the starting XI
