Sporting Director Ernst Tanner announced on Wednesday that Philadelphia Union head coach Jim Curtin’s contract has been extended for another two seasons.
Curtin, 40, is already the third longest tenured head coach in MLS behind two other coaches with ties to the area in Sporting Kansas City head coach and technical director Peter Vermes and D.C. United manager Ben Olsen.
Things haven’t been easy for Curtin coaching his hometown team, but he has the team in first place in July and has shown a lot more flexibility with Tanner in charge.
What are your thoughts on the extension? Have your feelings about Curtin changed over time? Think he’ll be around through the length of the deal?
