Bethlehem Steel FC returns to Talen Energy Stadium tonight looking to avenge a 4-0 loss to New York Red Bulls II on the road last month.

Steel FC come in much healthier and more stable than they were in that 4-0 loss when head coach Brendan Burke was forced to use all three subs — two in the first half — because of injuries to Michael Pellegrino, Yomi Samuele Scintu and Matthew Freese.

Saed Diaz is the lone player unavailable for the Steel in the return to Chester, according to the game notes released yesterday.

The Steel is coming off a tough 1-0 loss to the Pittsburgh Riverhounds on July 4th in a game decided by a Riverhounds free kick. The team had one of their best performances of the season the previous game out with a 3-0 road win over Hartford Athletic that saw rookie Issa Rayyan score his first professional goal.

A key returner to the back line is center back Jamoi Topey, who is back from international duty after a lengthy Gold Cup campaign with Jamaica. He made only one appearance though with the Reggae Boyz so it’s yet to be seen whether he’s fit to go 90 in this one.

Twelve points separate the two teams in the standings with the Red Bulls (9-4-4) tied for third place with North Carolina FC. The Steel come in with a 5-4-9 W-D-L record and one point behind 11th place Charlotte Independence.

They’ve picked up five of their 19 points against MLS affiliates with a win over Swope Park Rangers, ties to Atlanta United 2 and Loudoun United and the previous loss to the Red Bulls.

Tonight’s game kicks off at 7:30 p.m.
