5v5 soccer tournament being played on the deck of Battleship New Jersey in Camden

A Battle of the Branches 5v5 soccer tournament will be played on the deck of the Battleship New Jersey in Camden, N.J. on August 6.

The Philadelphia Union is hosting the tournament in partnership with Liberty USO and Battleship New Jersey to celebrate Military Appreciation Week.

From the Philadelphia Union website:

The Union invite all active duty military, as well as retired, reserve, DOD civilians, and friends and family playing in honor or memory of military members, in the Philadelphia-area to assemble teams and compete in the tournament. There is no cost to register and for each team that participates, the Philadelphia Union will make a donation to the USO and Battleship New Jersey.

The tournament will be staged from Noon to 4 p.m. The winning team will receive free tickets and limited-edition Adidas camo warm-up tops that the Union will wear prior to their Military Appreciation Game on Sunday, August 11 against Houston Dynamo. They will also be recognized on-field in front of fans and the team.
