College soccer fans in Philadelphia will get to experience a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity as both defending Division 1 champions will be arriving to town this upcoming season.
The Florida State Seminoles (women) and Maryland Terrapins (men) take on Villanova’s soccer teams on back-to-back days in September.
The Nova women’s soccer head coach Chris McLain and his staff announced their 2019 schedule last week, which includes nine games at Higgins Soccer Complex. The Nova women are coming off a season in which they finished 9-9 overall while going 3-6 in the Big East Conference. The Seminoles game will be on Sunday, September 15 at 1 p.m. at the Higgins Soccer Complex.
The Wildcats also host LSU, Saint Joseph’s, Delaware, Brown, Xavier, Georgetown, DePaul and St. John’s.
The Nova men announced their schedule on Wednesday.
Head coach Tom Carlin and the Wildcats are coming off a 2018 campaign that saw them finish with a 7-8-2 overall record and a 2-6-1 mark in conference play. They will battle against the defending champion Terrapins at Talen Energy Stadium, the home of the Philadelphia Union, on September 16 at 7 p.m.
They also host Delaware, Temple, Fordham, George Washington, Xavier, James Madison, Marquette, Providence and Georgetown.
