Saturday evening, the Union faced Seattle Sounders in a game that ended in a scoreless draw.
Seattle played a hard defensive game by keeping a tight five-man back line of defenders and steadily keeping 10 players behind the ball at all times.
It was clear that the Union had the momentum of the attack for most of the match. Throwing players forward and subbing in offensive players such as Ilsinho and Fafa Picault, Jim Curtin knew that they could win this game.
The Union were in third place in the power rankings before the game and Seattle was in second, everyone knew this game would be a great one. But a combination of time wasting and questionable officiating (3 minutes of stoppage time?!) kept the Philadelphia Union from putting a ball in the back of net.
The players played a fantastic game in my opinion, doing what they could to push the ball forward and get a goal in front of a loud and anxious Talen Energy Stadium.
