Auston Trusty’s consecutive minute streak that dated all the way back to the start of the 2018 season when he made his MLS debut came to an end when he was sent off in the 76th minute against LA Galaxy on Saturday night.
Trusty had a hard foul on Sebastian Lleget just outside the box and was sent off with a second yellow card for the challenge. He received a yellow in the 47th minute for a harsh foul on Lleget near the sideline.
The 20-year-old’s streak ends at 3,676 minutes and his consecutive starts streak will be snapped at 41 when he misses the game against Montreal Impact next Saturday with a red card suspension.
Mark McKenzie came in to replace Brenden Aaronson to take Trusty’s spot on the back line. He’ll likely pair with Jack Elliott again next Saturday on the back line. Trusty and Elliott had played every minute of the season prior to McKenzie coming in and making his 2019 debut.
