The Philadelphia Union are making their first trip to Nippert Stadium tonight, where they’ll face an FC Cincinnati side that’s unbeaten in three.
Cincy have gotten off to a much better start than was expected right out of the gate, and with a win over the Union, they would become the first expansion team to pick up ten points through their opening five games. They did pretty well in their only game at Nippert Stadium thus far this season, when they dropped three goals on the Portland Timbers two weeks ago. In the time since, they’ve also beaten the hapless New England Revolution in Foxboro.
The home team’s task will be made much more difficult by a full-strength Union. Andre Blake, Cory Burke, and Warren Creavalle have returned from international duty, Marco Fabián has served his two-game suspension, and new signing Jamiro Monteiro is now eligible to play.
Projected lineups
Philadelphia Union: Andre Blake; Kai Wagner, Auston Trusty, Jack Elliott, Ray Gaddis; Haris Medunjanin, Jamiro Monteiro, Alejandro Bedoya, Marco Fabián; David Accam, Cory Burke
