To no one’s surprise, new Philadelphia Union designated player Marco Fabián will be wearing the No. 10 shirt for the boys in blue this season.
The 29-year-old playmaker signed on Friday from Eintracht Frankfurt — where he wore David Accam’s No. 7 — is the seventh player in team history to wear the number. Danny Mwanga wore it the team’s first three seasons, followed by Roger Torres in 2013, Cristian Maidana in 2014-15 and Tranquillo Barnetta, Roland Alberg and Borek Dockal in each of the last three seasons.
Fabián wore No. 10 for most of his time with Frankfurt and also wore the number his last two seasons with Chivas in Liga MX a couple cycles with El Tri. He’s also worn No. 8 and No. 33 over his career and wore the No. 8 for Mexico in the 2014 and 2018 FIFA World Cups.
