Colorado Rapids forward Andre Shinyashiki was named as the award winner on Tuesday after receiving an average vote of 32.58 percent.

Andre Shinyashiki named 2019 MLS Rookie of the Year
Expectations were high for Shinyashiki from the very beginning. After a solid career at the University of Denver, the Rapids traded their 15th overall pick in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft and $100,000 in GAM to the Chicago Fire to secure the 5th pick, which they used to draft Shinyashiki.

Allen Chapman and Brian Dunn named top MLS officials
Chapman, who has refereed MLS matches since 2012, has been named the top MLS referee for the second time in three seasons after earning 2017 MLS Referee of the Year and also serving as the lead referee for the 2017 MLS Cup. Chapman becomes the fifth person to win multiple MLS Referee of the Year honors.
