With the release of FIFA 19 right around the corner, player ratings for all teams have been released by Futwiz.
Here’s what the stats look like for the top-five Union players, starting with Haris Medunjanin rated highest at 76, followed by Andre Blake (75), Borek Dockal (75), Alejandro Bedoya (74) and David Accam (71).
David Accam still makes the top five this year, despite a down year in which he has only scored two goals in all competitions for Philadelphia. His overall rating drops three points from the 2018 edition of the game, with a four-point drop in pace being the most notable difference (he still has a very respectable pace rating of 90).
The bulk of the goals for Philadelphia have come from the next five players. Cory Burke, the Union’s breakout star for the 2018 season, received his highest rating ever, 67, but was unable to top CJ Sapong. Sapong, still listed as a striker, drops two points. Keegan Rosenberry comes out as the highest rated defender on the roster, with a 69 rating.
The remainder of the Union starters and usual bench players all rate between 65 and 66.
Josh Yaro, who has yet to make an MLS appearance for the Union in the 2018 season, still manages to out rank Mark McKenzie and earns the same rating as starters Jack Elliott and Auston Trusty. Trusty earned a significant ratings boost from FIFA 18, jumping up from 59 to 66.
Jay Simpson hasn’t featured much this year for Philadelphia, and his rating seems to have been affected by his lack of play, dropping from a 67 rating to 64. The same can be said about Richie Marquez, who dropped a point from the previous year to a 64.
Union homegrown player Anthony Fontana, who hasn’t started since the arrival of Borek Dockal, earned a low 61 rating, but should see that number increase if Philadelphia can find more playing time for him. Marcus Epps, who has scored three goals in 2018 (one for Philadelphia, two for Bethlehem Steel), received a 63 rating.
Rounding out the bottom of the squad are Adam Najem, who despite featuring for the Afghanistan National Team and notching three goals and two assists in USL play receives a measly 59 rating, Union HG Matthew Real (57), and Jake McGuire (53).
The Union start the season with three gold players, 17 silver and eight bronze. For comparison, Atlanta United have four gold players (Almiron, Martinez, Villalba, Gonzalez-Perez), 13 silver and 12 bronze. While the gold rated players for Atlanta are rated higher (Martinez with an 81 rating, Almiron with an 80), the Union are given some respect in regard to depth.
FIFA 19 will be released on all platforms on September 28th.
