Union vs. Montreal Impact: Preview, projected lineups, and how to watch

Both teams will be looking to take the upper hand in a playoff race that’s entering its final stretch.

MLS: Philadelphia Union at Montreal Impact Jean-Yves Ahern-USA TODAY Sports

When the Union host Montreal Impact tonight, both teams will be looking to strengthen playoff résumés that currently have them on the right side of the red line.

The home team sit in fifth place, four points above Montreal with a game in hand. A win for the Union would pretty comfortably distance them from the Impact, while also allowing them to keep pace with fourth-place Columbus Crew SC, who take on FC Dallas at 8:00 PM.

Montreal has managed a result in only four of 14 away matches this season, winning only once away from home since March. They’ll need a reversal of fortunes tonight if they’re to hold onto the last playoff spot, with D.C. United and the New England Revolution within striking distance.

Projected lineups

Philadelphia Union: Andre Blake: Keegan Rosenberry, Jack Elliott, Auston Trusty, Ray Gaddis; Alejandro Bedoya, Haris Medunjanin; CJ Sapong, Borek Dočkal, Fafa Picault; Cory Burke
