Three local teams advance to U.S. Youth Soccer national finals in Texas

Philadelphia SC, Real Jersey FC and South Jersey Elite Barons Rush will play for national titles on Sunday

Three youth teams from the region will play for national championships on Sunday in Frisco, Texas after winning semifinal matches on Saturday at the U.S. Youth Soccer National Championships.

Real Jersey FC’s 2004 boys team advanced to the U14 final with a 3-0 win over California club El Camino FC early Saturday morning. Tyler Davidson opened the scoring for the Medford, New Jersey-based club just three minutes into the match and Cade McGrath and Ryan Kuldanek added goal three minutes apart in the second half.

With the win, Real Jersey will get a rematch with Michigan club Nationals, which they lost to in last year’s U13 championships. The game kicks off at 10:40 a.m. eastern.

Philadelphia SC Coppa Swarm advanced to the U14 girls final with a 1-0 win over FC Dallas. Madison Crozier scored the game-winner in the 50th minute.

They’ll play Michigan Jaguars at 11 a.m. (EST) Sunday.

South Jersey Elite Barons Rush advanced to the U16 girls final with a 3-1 win over California club Legends FC. Mackenzie Clement and Amanda Attanasi both scored in a two minute span in the first half for the South Jersey team and Attanasi added a second goal late in the second half to seal the victory.

SJEB Rush plays Utah club La Roca FC at 10:20 a.m. (EST) Sunday.
