The Union put in another lackluster performance on the road against LAFC

MLS: Philadelphia Union at Los Angeles FC Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

The road woes for the Philadelphia Union continued on Saturday night with a 4-1 loss to Los Angeles FC.

It was the sixth loss away from home this season for the Union, which have still won only twice on the road in the past two seasons.

Fafa Picault scored the game’s only goal for the visitors, but it was already 2-0 to LAFC at that point. CJ Sapong made is seven straight starts without finding the back of the net and last year’s leading goal scorer is still stuck at two for the season in 14 starts and 1,154 minutes.

Andre Blake made four saves in the match.

The Union were without last week’s MLS Player of the Week in Borek Dockal, who did not make the trip, and Haris Medunjanin who was serving the final game of a three-game suspension for his outburst in Atlanta.

The four goals were the most conceded by the back line this season and the most since a 5-1 loss on the road to Montreal Impact on July 23, 2016.
