Rate the U: Abject road failure

The Union failed to score again in their fourth road loss of the season Wednesday night in Columbus

MLS: Philadelphia Union at Columbus Crew SC Greg Bartram-USA TODAY Sports

Another road game, another goose egg on offense and another loss.

What is there left to say about how bad this team has been away from home this season?

The formula of dropping points at home and getting shut out on the road has become an alarmingly consistent feature of head coach Jim Curtin and the Philadelphia Union this season. It’s not a funk or a bad streak; it’s just the definition of what the team is right now.

No discussion of chance creation, young players or time to gel can cover up this mess.

Which brings us to another edition of the exercise where we weigh in on individual performances. The lineup was a familiar and predictable one, but did mark the return of Fabinho from injury and Marcus Epps made his second appearance off the bench.
