Ocean City Nor’easters return attacking talent, local college standouts

Fredlin Mompremier and Igancio Tellechea, who combined for 13 goals last season, highlight the 2018 roster for the Ocean City Nor’easters.

Mompremier led the team in 2017 with eight goals and Tellechea was tied for second with five goals. Both players transferred to new schools last fall — Mompremier had five goals and a pair of assists at Fairleigh Dickinson and Tellechea four goals and two assists at UC Santa Barbara.

Other returners from last year’s team, which finished in third place with a 9-4-1 record, include Georgia State midfielder Max Hemmings, Hartford goalkeeper Jimmy Slayton, Delaware goalkeeper and West Chester, Pa. native Todd Morton, North Carolina forward Alex Rose, FDU midfielder Daniel Lasarte and East Tennessee State midfielder Nicolas Spielman.

Newcomers include Villanova defender Nikkye DePoint, Holy Family midfielder Sean McCormick, Virginia defender and Philadelphia native Spencer Patton, Rowan defender Matt Fahey of Williamstown, N.J., North Carolina goalkeeper Alec Smir, Wilmington University forward Abdul Mansaray, Akron defender Joe Korb and Louisville defender Liam Bennett.

Players hail from nine different states and six different countries, including Haiti, England, Spain, Italy and Wales.

A total of 27 players are are on the roster posted on the PDL website, but there will likely be additions prior to the start of the season (the roster embedded below will be updated as additions are made). The Nor’easters travel to Michigan to play AFC Ann Arbor for the first round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on May 9 and open their regular season at FA Euro New York three nights later.
