After participating in the first ever United States Youth National Team Summit in Florida last month, Philadelphia Union Academy goalkeeper Kris Shakes is returning to Florida for a camp with the U.S. U18 team.
The 16-year-old keeper has split time between the Union U19 and U17 teams this season while also training with Bethlehem Steel. He made the game day 18 for the Steel three times last season and was a preseason camp invite by the first team in Clearwater, Florida in 2017.
Shakes joined the Union U14s from FC Florida during the 2015-16 season.
The U.S. training camp will take place in Orlando from Feb. 4-12. The squad is taking on Costa Rica in two separate friendlies.
A total of 24 players were called in by U18 head coach Omid Namazi.
