Union vs. NYCFC: Preview, projected lineups and how to watch

You again

MLS: Philadelphia Union at New York City FC Dennis Schneidler-USA TODAY Sports

Three days after falling to New York City FC on Decision Day, the Philadelphia Union are back in Yankee Stadium for the knockout round of the MLS Cup Playoffs. The loss on Sunday doomed the Union to this fate, sending them down to sixth place and setting up an immediate rematch with third-place NYCFC.

Notes

  • Cory Burke will start tonight. Burke was pulled off at halftime on Sunday despite scoring the team’s lone goal.
  • The Union have lost in all three of their previous playoff appearances. Tonight provides them the opportunity to end that streak and bring a playoff game to Talen Energy Stadium for the first time in seven years.
  • NYCFC’s field is still an abomination, and this game will be a nightmare regardless of the result.

Projected lineups

Philadelphia Union: Andre Blake; Keegan Rosenberry, Mark McKenzie, Auston Trusty, Ray Gaddis; Alejandro Bedoya, Haris Medunjanin; CJ Sapong, Borek Dočkal, Fafa Picault; Cory Burke

NYCFC: Sean Johnson; Anton Tinnerholm, Maxime Chanot, Alex Callens, Ben Sweat; Alex Ring, Yangel Herrera; Jesus Medina, Maxi Moralez, Ismael Tajouri-Shradi; David Villa
