Nick Blacklock had a brace and Tomas Romero recorded his first clean sheet of the season in a 2-0 win for the Philadelphia Union U19 team last weekend in Montreal.

The win was one of two wins on the day for Union Academy teams against the Montreal Impact. A third game ended in a 1-1 draw.

Blacklock converted a penalty kick in the 15th minute and two minutes later doubled the Union’s lead off an assist from Axel Picazo. The goals were the third and fourth of the season for Blacklock, which leads the team.

Romero kept the clean sheet in his second start of the season after Kris Shakes had a shut out against Bethesda SC a week earlier. The U19s improved to 3-1-0 on the season with their third straight win.

Selmir Miscic, who recently signed a professional deal with Bethlehem Steel FC, made his U19 debut in the match as a substitute off the bench in the 61st minute.

The U17s won by an identical 2-0 score line in their game against the Montreal Impact.

The game was scoreless through the first 76 minutes before Tianshuo Yang and Patrick Bohui delivered goals in the 77th and 89th minutes.

Lukas Burns recorded his second clean sheet of the season in the match.

The U15 game ended in a 1-1 draw after the Impact found a 58th minute equalizer. Ryan Lau had the goal for the Union in the 17th minute.

While their older counterparts were north of the border, the U14 and U13 teams traveled to New York to play Met Oval.

The U14s won their match 2-1 behind goals from Dylan Lacey and Logan Oliver and the U13s drew 3-3. John Andrus, Henry Bernstein and Dylan Falcone scored the goals for the Union.
