Bethlehem Steel FC has had a pretty rough August, and this news isn’t exactly helping. Midfielder Chris Wingate suffered a partial ACL tear two weeks ago and will be out for the remainder of the season. After assessing the injury recently, the Steel medical staff decided with Chris that surgery was the only real option going forward.
The rookie from Hovik, Norway appeared in five contests this year for Steel, with his debut coming against the Charleston Battery on May 6th. Bethlehem are just above the playoff line, and losing a quality option in midfield like Wingate isn't ideal. Bethlehem take on Orlando tonight in Florida which is as good of a chance as any to try and pick up some much needed points.
Brotherly Game and specifically myself would like to wish Chris a safe and successful surgery, a full and speedy recovery and we look forward to seeing him back on the field next year.
