After a perfectly boring half of soccer, both the Philadelphia Union and the Montreal Impact remain scoreless.
The two teams recorded a combined five shots, with each team registering a shot on goal apiece. Unsurprisingly, CJ Sapong and Ignacio Piatti were the two players to have sent their efforts goalbound.
In the fifth minute, Sapong picked up an errant Impact pass and dribbled toward goal, eventually firing a weak shot from a tight angle. Evan Bush saved it easily.
A few moments later, Piatti forced a save out of Andre Blake after turning the Union back line inside out.
Josh Yaro was the only change in the squad after last week’s 3-1 defeat over FC Dallas. He replaced Oguchi Onyewu, who was a late scratch with a groin injury.
